Wired infrastructures are the twisted-pair copper wires, which are the main telecommunications operators' asset, and the coaxial cables owned by the cable oper- ators (CATV4).
Because the use of the main lines - trunk technologies - is spread across a lot of users, they used to be broadband- coaxial cable, radio towers that transmit microwave sig- nals, communication satellites or fibre optic.
This alternative uses the coaxial cable both for upstream and downstream data.
While the coaxial cable permits higher Internet speeds, the DSL is more consist- ent and safer to hackers' attacks.
